Settlement description:
This settlement was founded in 2008. The first family of the settlers (from Kyiv) bought a house in September, 11, 2008, having searched for it through 10000 km of Ukrainian territory. This area surrounded by woods caught their eye, as it was both beautiful and quiet.
They wanted to create a settlement of equal-minded people for comfortable living in nature and economic development.
The farmstead is located in Chernihivska region, Horodniansky district in 50 km from Cherhihiv and 200 km from Kyiv.
At the moment, 7 families live at the farmstead full time. There are 2 more that only come to the farmstead in summer. There are 11 adults and 11 children in the community. 6 children were born right on a farmstead, 4 of them in the house. The children’s age is from 4 to 11 years. There are also 10 locals in the farmstead.
There is no shop there. The nearest shop and school are located in 2 km from the farmstead.
27 houses are left in the farmstead. 15 of them have been purchased and are now private property. Every family possesses a land strip ranging from 10 hectares to 1.5 hectares. There is wood with berries and mushrooms around and a lake in 1.5 km. Some houses are available for sale.
The settlers use such technologies as eco building, frame houses, adobe brick building, adobe furnaces, Kuznetsov furnace, bio-vegetarium, recirculating aquaculture system, fish farm, rocket stoves, solar panels, composting, organic vegetable gardens, and a tea workshop.
Guided tours around the farmstead are available for visitors, as well as the explanations about eco technologies. The settlers also organize holidays, festivals, and concerts. They go to different eco conferences and eco villages. The farmstead is open to guests and volunteers.
The settlers don’t drink alcohol, don’t smoke. Most of them are vegetarians.
