Settlement description:

In Ukraine, on historical lands of Kirovograd region, on picturesque borderlands of Cold Ravine, on the edge of Black Forest and by a lake, is located our community of family estates and eco estates.

Location. Kirovograd region, Oleksandriv district, villages Tsvitne and Ruzhychevo

Historical reference. Cold Ravine is a sacred place for Ukrainians. This unique country conceals secrets of many historical events of Ukraine: Koliyivshchyna, war of liberation, Cossacks resistance, Cold Ravine republic, partisan movement. The country itself has a unique landscape: nature here is diverse and exceptional, steep slopes of ravines are covered with thick woods with oaks and ashes thousand years old. The place itself is covered with riddles. One of them is the location of Island Rus. It was searched during many years from the Baltic sea to the Black sea.  And no one thought first to look for an Island of 130-140 km on the dry land. Historians studied tributaries of the Dnieper river step by step and found out  that the bay of Irdyn and Tiasmyn rivers represents a dried riverbed of the Dnieper river which was navigable one thousand years ago. And the island of 130 km was situated between the two river arms. That’s why here can be found remains of huge ships and sea shellfish. Cold Ravine has the first place in Ukraine as for the number of unique archeological, historical and science objects which are more than 150.

History of the community. The settlement was founded in 2008 by people who moved from cities to the countryside. Many families have plots of land more than one hectare where they create balanced and ecological environment. There are family estates, designed as self-sufficient ecosystems where the main place is given to a man who guides everything with his thoughts and energies.  And there are eco estates which main idea is implementing eco resources in everyday life. The members buy plots of land with houses in the village and transform those houses to live there their own lifestyle.

Members. 12 families live in the community: 24 adults and 6 children. Children go to the local school.

Goods and services. The community grows organic food for local consumption and for selling. It organizes workshops and education courses.

The Sholin family keeps bees and sells honey. They practice organic agriculture. They collect medicinal herbs and make herbal teas. They give painting lessons. Visiting by appointment

The Prytula family has a seed bank of old varieties of vegetables and fruit. They have a nursery of saplings of old varieties of fruit trees. They give yoga lessons, Goltis system lessons, art therapy. They have experience in organic growing of cereals and vegetables. They also give lessons of Petrykivka painting, a traditional Ukrainian decorative painting style. Three generations live in the estate, they have strong family traditions, believe in the family power. Visiting by appointment

The eco estate Prylisne grows organic food as well as saplings of decorative plants for selling. They organize festivals and events where lonely people can meet and create a family. They give lessons of pottery. They develop the social and business project of Art Village. Visiting by appointment
